Yves LOHE (born 1947) - Lot 7
Yves LOHE (born 1947) Pocket dish in polychrome glass paste, signed under the base D_ 24 cm A French sculptor born in northern France, Yves Lohé turned to sculpture in the 1970s after an apprenticeship with master wrought-iron worker Abel Bataillard. He began with wrought iron and elongated figures, exploring the expression of the body, movement and attitudes around themes such as dance, music and daily life. Gradually, his work evolved towards bronze, a material in which he created figurative and poetic works, often inspired by the animal and human worlds. In the 1990s, his encounter with master glassmaker Werner Manesse enabled him to integrate glass and transparency into his formal vocabulary, enriching his compositions with light and color.
