The abbot of Moyenmoutier, the celebrated Humbert Belhomme, author of L'Ancienne Abbaye de Moyenmoutier written in Latin, gives the office of Tabellion to M. Nicolas-François Mansuy, a document signed in June 1713 by Joignon secrétare and Humbert Belhomme. Dom Humbert Belhomme was born in Bar-le-Duc in 1653 and died in 1727 at the abbey of Moyenmoutier, where he was abbot and founder of one of the largest libraries in Lorraine. In fact, as a reminder, a Tabellion office is equivalent to a notary's office, and enables the person holding this office for the Moyenmoutier seigneury to enter into contracts, manage land, have land marked out, etc....
