Attributed to Sébastien YOUF Height: 76.5 cm. Diameter. 70 cm Minor restorations. A small accident to the marble. YOUF Sébastien (1771-1850) Cabinetmaker to Princess Elisa from 1807 to 1811. Quoted in the De Lucques archives Younger brother of Jean-Baptiste-Gilles YOUF, he joined his elder brother in Paris at 35, rue du Bac. Thanks to the proximity of the hotel on rue de la Chaise, where Princess Elisa Baciocchi, Napoleon's sister, lived, she asked him to come to Lucca to set up a furniture factory. The cabinetmaker's signature can be found on some of the most original Tuscan neoclassical furniture in the collections of the Palis PITTI apartments. Other pieces, such as our pedestal table, can be attributed to him, as they share the ornaments characteristic of his workmanship and style, which are published in the book: ENRICO COLLE IL MOBILE IMPERO IN ITALIA arredi e decorazioni d'interni dal 1800 al 1843. Edizione ELECTA 200. Page 116- 120 - 122- 130. Expert: Stéphane Pépe
