Michel Mallerot, Parisian cabinetmaker Michel Mallerot (1675–1753) was a Parisian cabinetmaker who remains relatively unknown, as do many cabinetmakers of the early 18th century. Pierre Verlet lists him in the directory of cabinetmakers in the second edition of his book, *French Furniture of the 18th Century*, published in 1982. Along with Sageot, Gaudreaux, Doirat, Lieutaud, Garnier, and a few others, he was one of the first to stamp his work, using his simple initials in a broad, bold style—as was often the case with early stamps.
