A wooden cigar mold consisting of a first board to which woo - Lot 53
A wooden cigar mold consisting of a first board to which wooden molds—each shaped like half a cigar—are attached. Once filled with tobacco, the craftsman places a second, openwork board on top that matches the shape of the second half of the cigar; the worker then inserts a press board. The assembly is left to set for a few hours, allowing the tobacco to take on the cigar’s final shape within the mold. Marked with the manufacturer’s name, this is a Dutch piece from the late 19th century.
