Jean François Millet is one of the most brilliant representatives of the Barbizon School and Realism. His famous painting *L’Angélus* was one of the most expensive paintings of the 19th century. However, in the early 20th century, the discovery
of forgeries created by his grandson temporarily destabilized the market for the artist’s works.
