Note:
These vases date from the Ruellands’ Parisian period. After discovering ceramics in Vallauris in 1950, Jacques and Dani Ruelland established their studio on Rue de Buci in Paris. Starting in the mid-1950s, they developed their own distinctive style: simple or asymmetrical forms and, above all, glossy glazes in particularly intense colors—orange, yellow, apple green, turquoise, or red. They regularly participated in the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs beginning in 1959, before leaving Paris for Les Angles, near Avignon, in 1970.
