CHINA, 20th century A bottle-shaped vase with a globular body and a long, flared neck, made of white-ground porcelain. The decoration, painted in polychrome enamels, depicts two deer moving through a landscape composed of hollowed-out rocks, blooming peonies, and a flowering plum tree. A few birds enliven the composition. A gold fillet highlights the rim of the neck. The reverse bears a four-character mark painted in blue under the glaze.
