CUZCO SCHOOL, 19th century Saint Isidore the Farmer Oil on canvas H_150 cm W_85 cm This is a significant depiction of Saint Isidore the Farmer, patron saint of farmers and agricultural work. Surrounding him are the emblematic scenes from his legend: working in the fields, sowing seeds, transporting crops, yoking oxen, and the presence of assisting angels, in accordance with the iconography characteristic of the Andean colonial tradition. At his feet are worshippers kneeling in prayer, as well as a village with whitewashed houses.
