(Accents. One foot restored).
Under the Rococo style, furniture became lighter, while its fronts were adorned with floral, asymmetrical and exotic motifs, often inspired by Orientalism. This small, curved chest of drawers embodies the spirit of the 18th century, which was reborn in the 19th century, marked by a taste for otherworldliness and a quest for preciousness in both decor and materials.
A similar model is kept at the Musée Carnavalet, under reference MB451.
