Alain JACQUET (1939-2008) - Lot 116
Alain JACQUET (1939-2008) Silver Marble, The Geneva Project, 1971 Silkscreen on cardboard, signed lower right in pencil, numbered lower left. Published by Galerie Bonnier, Geneva. Limited edition of 75 H_42.5 W_46.5 cm French painter Alain Jacquet is associated with the Nouveau Réalisme movement. Inspired by popular culture and mass media, he revisits emblematic images from art and advertising, transforming them through silkscreen and other reproducible techniques. His work questions the reproduction, representation and consumption of images, blending irony, misappropriation and homage to the old masters, while placing the viewer at the heart of a reflection on art and contemporary society.
