The Tulip Chair, designed by Eero Saarinen in 1955-1956 for Knoll, is one of the most iconic pieces of modern design. It is part of the Pedestal Group, a series of furniture designs whose aim was to eliminate the visual clutter of traditional legs, by opting for a central base. Characterized by a clean, organic shape, the chair is made from molded fiberglass with an aluminum base. Its minimalist, futuristic design is associated with the "Space Age" movement of the 1960s.
