Fancis de Lassus Saint-Genies (1925-2018) was a remarkable French artist, recognized for his contributions as a painter, lithographer, engraver and illustrator. Born in Val André, Brittany, he pursued his artistic training at the Académie Julian in Paris, where he developed a distinctive style often centered on the female figure, like his contemporary Alain Bonnefoit.
Saint-Geniès is often associated with Surrealism and Symbolism, and his works frequently explore themes of intimacy and human experience. He has devoted much of his career to portraiture, striving to capture the secret character of his subjects through a personal and expressive approach.
His art is characterized by a blend of realism and imaginative elements, inviting viewers to engage deeply with the emotional nuances of his subjects.
