H_37.5 cm W_ 27.5 cm Pierre Lelong was a remarkable French artist, born on March 24, 1908 in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He died in Paris on June 29, 1984. Lelong is best known as a Neo-Impressionist painter, a style characterized by vibrant colors and a predominance of light. Lelong was largely self-taught and retained a deep passion for painting throughout his life. His dedication to the art was evident as he continued to create until his death in 1984. In recognition of his contribution to the art world, he was awarded the Grand Prix des Peintres Témoins de Leur Temps in 1972, underlining his importance on the contemporary art scene. One of Lelong's most important works is "Une vie de camp", which recounts his experience as a prisoner at Oflag IV D during the Second World War. This work testifies to his ability to blend personal history with artistic expression. His works often deal with themes of everyday life and nature, treated in a unique style that captures the essence of neo-impressionism.
