Claude Schürr was a renowned French painter and lithographer, born on March 26, 1921, Place des Vosges, Paris. He died on November 28, 2014 in Cannes. Schürr was a member of the École de Paris, a group of influential artists on the twentieth-century art scene.
Schürr studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris from 1938 to 1942. His artistic style is often described as a synthesis of cubism and impressionism, blending elements of abstraction with classical techniques. His works frequently feature landscapes, nudes and interiors, inspired by his travels across Europe.
