ORIVIT (1898-1914) - Lot 72
ORIVIT (1898-1914) Jugenstil movement. Large planter in gilded metal with woman and plant-shaped socket. H_13 cm L_59 cm Orivit (1898-1914) was a German manufacturer founded in Cologne, specializing in the production of high-quality pewter decorative objects in the Art Nouveau style. The company is renowned for its elegant creations with sinuous lines, inspired by nature and the female figure, typical of the artistic movement of the late 19th century. Thanks to an innovative technique, Orivit used a refined pewter known as Orivitmetall, enabling fine detail in objects such as vases, boxes, tea sets, candlesticks and goblets. Awarded a gold medal at the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition, the brand enjoyed international success. In 1905, it was acquired by the WMF group, which continued production under the Orivit name until 1914.
