Daum Nancy - Lot 41
Daum Nancy
Large amphora vase in marmorated glass with acid-etched decoration
Amphora vase in marbled glass, typical of Daum Nancy production in the early 20th century. The piece features a rich palette of marbled colors, achieved by superimposing layers of colored glass. The stylized vegetal decoration of leaves is created using the acid-clear technique, enabling subtle relief work and fine detail.
The vase has two lateral glass handles, harmoniously integrated into the shape of the amphora, accentuating the balance and symmetry of the object. The base and neck of the vase are finely worked, testifying to Daum's exceptional craftsmanship.
Signed in relief "Daum Nancy" accompanied by the Cross of Lorraine, the emblematic mark of the manufacture between 1900 and 1930.
Dimensions: Height 43 cm.
Excellent, with no visible chips or restorations.
Provenance: Estate of Docteur Marius Mozer by descent.
