Naval infantry officer's saber, model 1855, with brass mounting, oval cap with laurel wreath, amatized hollow joint arch, openwork top decorated with flowers and naval anchor, drop-shaped quillon. Horn buttstock, lacking watermark. Slightly curved blade with hollow sides and gutters from the Châtellerault factory, dated 1877. Leather scabbard with three brass fittings. Total length 94 cm.
