Alf SVENSSON (1923-1992) designer, DUX éditeur Galaxy" model Armchair in thermoformed plastic on a four-legged base, upholstered in brown fabric H_93.5 cm Alf Svensson was an emblematic Swedish designer of Scandinavian modernism, active mainly from the 1950s to the 1970s. He worked closely with the publisher DUX, for whom he designed furniture in a sober, functional and elegant style, often in solid wood and leather. Among his most famous pieces are the Te-Ve, Contour and Domus 1 armchairs, emblems of post-war Nordic design. He also co-founded S-Design and explored modern materials such as plastic with the Galaxy chair. Today, his work is sought after by collectors and exhibited in several design museums.
