Édouard-Marcel Sandoz (1881-1971) was a French sculptor and medallist, famous for his animal works in bronze. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he developed a unique style blending realism and abstraction, where he simplified forms while capturing the essence of animals with great expressivity. His sculptures, such as "La Chèvre" (1924), are renowned for their dynamism, attention to detail and meticulous workmanship in bronze. In addition to his animal sculptures, he created medals and ceramic pieces. His work left its mark on twentieth-century animal sculpture, and continues to influence contemporary artists.
