Louise SAURY (1923-2014) "Bouquet de fleur dans un broc" (Bouquet of flowers in a jug) Oil on canvas Signed lower left. H_61,5cm L_50,5 cm Louise Saury (1923-2014) was a French painter and pastellist, originally from Denain and living in Valenciennes. At the age of 11, she won the Prix de l'Académie de Lille. A member of the Artistes français de Paris, she exhibited for almost twenty years at the Salon des artistes français et des Indépendants in Paris. In 2007, she was awarded the Gold Medal of the Arts et Lettres de France. She also creates commemorative medals, including those for the millennium of the Miracle of the Holy Cordon in 2008 and the tercentenary of the Victory of Denain in 2012. Her works are on display at Mas-Saintes-Puelles, where she has donated some of them. Provenance: Collection of Monsieur Robert I.
