Model 1855 infantry officer's saber. Brass mounting. Oval cap with laurel wreath, filleted joint arch (restoration), openwork top decorated with flowers, drop-shaped quillon. Watermarked horn spindle (watermark missing). Slightly curved blade with groove, gutters and counter-edge. Iron scabbard with one strap (accident). France, second half of the 19th century.
