Bound in 5 parts. Hippocrates of Kos, or simply Hippocrates, born around 460 B.C. on the island of Kos and died around 377 B.C. in Larissa, was a Greek physician and philosopher of the Periclean century, traditionally regarded as the "father of medicine". He founded the Hippocratic school, which intellectually revolutionized medicine in ancient Greece. He made medicine distinct and autonomous from other fields of knowledge, such as theurgy and philosophy, and established it as a profession in its own right. Expert: Mr. Philippe HENRY
