Charles- Marie PECCATTE (1870-1962). - Lot 473
Charles- Marie PECCATTE (1870-1962). "Le lac, lever du jour aux ruines et aux grands arbres". Oil on canvas. Signed lower left. Dimensions: 46 x 55 cm. Charles-Marie Peccatte was a French painter, born in Baccarat (Meurthe-et-Moselle) on February 21, 1870 and died in Saint-Dié on March 3, 1962. He is best known for his oil landscapes, which reflect a particular sensitivity to the natural world around him. Peccatte developed a style characterized by a personal approach, less influenced by the major artistic currents of his time. He used both brush and knife to create his works, enabling him to play with textures and colors. Among his notable works are landscapes depicting autumn and winter scenes, such as "Autumn Landscape with Birch Trees" and "Winter Landscape with Tall Trees", which demonstrate his talent for capturing variations in light and atmosphere.
