Eugène DUFOUR (1873-1941). "The Fountain". Oil on canvas mounted on panel. Signed lower right. Dimensions: 62 x 27 cm. Eugène Dufour was a French painter, born and died in Marseille between 1873 and 1941. Born into a family of Provençal decorators, he trained at the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Marseille in the late 19th century. Dufour's artistic career began at an early age. His work is often associated with Provençal themes, highlighting the light and landscapes of his native region. He developed a style that reflects Impressionist influences, with particular attention to color and light, characteristic of the landscapes of southern France.
