Marcel CORETTE (1896-1946). "Under the Eye of Grandmother". Oil on canvas. Signed lower left. Dimensions: 81 x 76 cm Marcel Corrette was a French painter, born in 1896 in Fenneviller and died in 1946 in Nancy. He is best known for his animated landscapes, as well as for his work as a draughtsman and decorator. Corrette was a pupil of Jules Larcher, a painter of portraits and still lifes, at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy. His style is characterized by a lively, colorful approach, often focusing on scenes of daily life and landscapes. He used a variety of techniques, including gouache and Indian ink, to create works that capture the beauty of nature and lively environments. Among his works are botanical studies and landscapes, such as "Etude de Spirée d'Espagne", and watercolors depicting villages, such as "Le village de Waville". These works testify to his talent for depicting flora and landscapes with great sensitivity. Consultant : Mr. Robert Leterrier
