KACHAN carpet (Iran), mid-20th century Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A magnificent polychrome, starry, poly-lobed rosette sits on a fuchsia field adorned with delicate, multicolored flowering stems. Four spandrels with vegetal, navy and sky scrolls frame the whole. Three counter-borders, ivory and turquoise, surround the main navy one, all four with polychrome flower garlands. Fuchsia braid. Dimensions: 316 x 216 cm Expert : Frank Kassapian
