AGRA rug (India), circa 1965 Technical features: wool velvet on cotton backing. Four wide, crenellated brick spandrels, highlighted with florets and vegetal decoration, enclose an abraded bluish field, which supports a large, arrow-shaped brick medallion with flowery crenellations and stylized vegetation. Large bluish border with a succession of corollas and polychrome oak leaves, flanked by two counter-borders with cruciform flower garlands. Dimensions: 233 x 219 cm. Expert : Frank Kassapian
