BAKTIAR carpet (Iran), Shah period, mid-20th century Technical features: wool velvet on cotton backing. An ivory border with a succession of blossoming corollas in warm colors, flanked by two brick counter-borders with garlands of flowers, frames a "garden décor" composed of forty multicolored boxes adorned with stylized plant compositions, flowering vases and mihrabs.
