TABRIZ carpet (Iran), Shah period, mid-20th century Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A ruby field supports a sowing of flowers of all kinds on stems dividing the background. Together, these corollas form polychrome floral compositions. Four counter borders, two pink and two old gold, frame the main mauve one, all five with garlands of exuberant, colorful flowers.
