Important TABRIZ carpet (Persia), 1st third of the 20th century Technical characteristics: Wool velvet on cotton backing. This field features a surprisingly pleasing mosaic pattern of flowery rosettes alternating with floret boxes linked by delicate leafy scrolls. Six counter-borders with small flowers frame the main border (the seven steps to paradise), which is adorned with boxes and rosettes on flowering stems. Dimensions: 410 x 280 cm.
