SIVAS-SEBASTIA carpet (Asia Minor), late 19th century, early 20th century Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. An oblong ivory field, covered with multicolored flowering stems, supports a mandorla-shaped brick and cream floral medallion and its pendants. Four pastel spandrels with plant arabesques frame the whole. Six counter-borders with florets and garlands of flowers encircle the main salmon-colored border. Salmon braid. Dimensions: 334 x 230 cm.
