Original BOUKHARA carpet (Central Asia), late 19th century. Dimensions : 188 x 113cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation. An ivory field hosts twelve Gühls "shields" interspersed with smaller ones, all in polychrome. Wide ivory center border with cruciform Kotchaks (ram's horns), crenellated highlights and warm-colored florets. Two ivory reserves with stylized plants at either end.
