SARYK ENSI silk carpet (Central Asia), mid-20th century. Dimensions: 145 x 105cm. Technical features: silk velvet on silk backing. A wide border with multicolored stylized trees of life flanked by two counter-borders with a series of small "Kotchaks" (trophies) frame a rectangular ogival mihrab, with large polychrome cruciform vegetal decoration, set on a trellis of "Kotchaks", supporting a vault with stylized vegetal sowing. Reserve of flowering stems at the base. Multicolored ribbon and interlacing highlights. Warm tones. An elegant ensemble.
