Elegant HILLA rug (Caucasus-Shirvan), late 19th century Dimensions: 180 x 130cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation. A navy field sown with multicolored stylized palmettes and foliage, supports a medallion and four ivory spandrels, crenellated and radiating with stylized floral and bird branches. Main border with speckled bayadère decoration, surrounded by four sky and brick counter-borders with garlands of florets and a succession of pastel "S". Very classy.
