SEIKHOUR carpet (Caucasus), late 19th century Dimensions: 175 x 123cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation. Three imposing stylized, cruciform and polychrome floral compositions lie on a navy field adorned with flowers, diamonds, crosses, stars and "S". The field is flanked by six ivory pyramidal spaces, decorated with hooks, small symbols and stylized cypresses. Two royal blue counter-borders with two-tone undulating lines frame the main brick border, with a series of small multicolored flowers.
