PANDERMA carpet (Asia Minor), early 20th century - Lot 93
PANDERMA carpet (Asia Minor), early 20th century Dimensions: 185 x 125cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. Two delicate floral columns stand out against the garnet field of this mihrab, highlighted with flowers, while supporting the vaults where a polychrome floral composition hangs, acting as an oil lamp. The orange vaults are adorned with twirling, coral and floret branches. Two reserves, richly decorated with interlacing and multicolored flowers, are placed at each end of the mihrab. The main cream border with a series of multicolored floral formations is flanked by two polychrome flowery counter-borders and another with small star-shaped parallelepipeds. (Minor wear).
