Rare TABRIZ carpet, HADJI-JALILI silk workshop (Persia), late 19th century. Dimensions : 200 x 135cm. Technical features : Silk velvet on silk backing. Enclosed by two ivory counter-borders with a succession of carnations, the main navy border features a garland of polychrome flowers in full bloom. The whole frames a red/orange field adorned with flowering stems. An oblong, arabesque ivory counterfield supports a brick gem-shaped medallion and its pendants.
