KASHGAI carpet (Persia), early 20th century Dimensions: 200 x 140cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A brick field with florets, flowering stems and floral compositions frames an imposing navy medallion also covered in the same design, with a small crenellated brick medallion at its center, echoing the flower at each corner. Two bluish counter-borders with polychrome carnation stems enclose the main medallion, decorated with stylized ivory flowers and multicolored hearts. Bucolic freshness.
