Nancy, Chez l'auteur, 1763; broadside, VI pp. (text), 20 plates, 19th century half-brown calf binding, smooth spine, expect restoration to binding. A fine copy; the plates are mounted, and the numbering does not correspond to the description, as is often the case, but the work is complete. This work shows all the ironwork carried out on the Place Stanislas construction site in Nancy. Jean Lamour, born in 1698 in Nancy, where he died in 1771, was a locksmith and wrought-iron worker from Lorraine in the service of Stanislas Leszczynski, King of Poland and Duke of Lorraine. He was responsible for countless ironwork projects in the booming city of Nancy during his lifetime. For the Place Stanislas, he collaborated with architect Emmanuel Héré. The Place Stanislas railings reproduced in this book are certainly his masterpiece. Consultant: Mr. Philippe HENRY
