TEISSIER (G.F.) - Histoire de Thionville, suivie de divers mémoires sur l'origine et l'accroissement des fortifications, les établissements religieux et de charité, l'instruction publique, la topographie, la population, le commerce et l'industrie, notices biographiques...etc. Metz, Verronnais, Imp.-Lib.-Edit. 1828; in-8, XI-493 pp. half-brown calf binding, smooth spine, text stamped on spine. Certainly the best work on Thionville by Teissier, who was the town's sub-prefect. Superb plate-frontispiece depicting the covered bridge, church and tower in Thionville, lithographed by Dupuy, as well as a plate of Lorraine coins minted in Sierck, and finally a plate depicting Cardinal de Richelieu. The first 4 pages of the book (including the title page) are photocopies. Consultant: Mr. Philippe HENRY
