JAPAN, EDO PERIOD, 18th - 19th CENTURY, Set of two inrô, one with four compartments, in black lacquer, decorated in gold hiramaki-e and raden inlays, with plant motifs; the other, with three red lacquered compartments, evoking a section of bamboo, decorated in iroe-takamaki-e with a mokugyo on one side and an auspicious inscription on the other; with a netsuke formed by a red lacquered nut (Crack, wear).
