SINO/HERÉKÉ silk carpet (China), circa 1975 Dimensions: 160 x 151cm. Technical features: silk velvet on silk backing. A beautiful ivory, cream, celadon and brick polylobed floral rosette is set on an ivory field with floral scrolls. Four scrolled spandrels and four arabesque excrescences frame the whole. Brick border with a series of ivory corollas on plant stems, flanked by two ivory counter-borders with garlands of florets. Lace highlights. Square and poetic.
