CHINA, LATE 19th CENTURY Vertical silk panel embroidered with polychrome threads in shades of blue and cream, decorated with two women with flowers and incense in a perfume burner, sailing on water in a boat under a tree with a crane in flight. Sight size: 119.5 x 69 cm (Unfinished, damaged, tears) Provenance Presumed private collection of Monsieur Auguste Gérard (1852-1922), French ambassador to China (1893-1897) and Japan (1907-1913). Then by descent to the present owner.
