*This chest of drawers is stamped by Pierre ROUSSEL, a skilled marker and cabinetmaker of repute who left an abundant, diverse output of excellent quality.
He delivered numerous commissions for the Prince de Condé, both for the Palais Bourbon and the Château de Chantilly.
Always meticulously crafted and often refined, Pierre ROUSSEL's furniture covers all the styles of the 18th century, from rocaille to neo-classicism.
Chests of drawers from the Louis XV period are generally veneered with rosewood and violet, with some retaining the "tomb" shape inherited from the Regency period.
