GOSSIN FRERES PARIS. Pair of Louis XIV style terracotta ornamental statues representing two female figures draped in antique style, symbolizing fire and wind. Signed COSSIN Fres Paris on the base. Paris, 19th century. Height: 58 and 151 cm. Missing parts and accidents. The COSSIN FRERES factory in PARIS, run by Etienne (died 1900) and Louis (1846-1928), pupils of Mathurin MOREAU, exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes from 1877 onwards, often winning medals, and took part in the Universal Exhibitions of 1889 and 1900.
