MELCHISEDECH - Lot 187
MELCHISEDECH 2006 1 bottle 30 L The vintage Melchisedech Boërl & Kroff is an unclassifiable cuvée, the fruit of the best grapes from exceptional plots of land, used for the elaboration of Boërl & Kroff Champagnes, nestled in the heart of the best Pinot Noirs of the Champagne region in the Urville area. The vintage Melchisédech Boërl & Kroff is composed of 90% Pinot noir, 7% Chardonnay and 3% Pinot meunier. Only 4 Melchisédechs were produced in 1995 and 4 in 2006. Its uniqueness is due to the fact that it is fermented in the bottle (instead of being decanted). Constant observation has allowed us to follow the elaboration and the exceptional development of the cuvée and to work with the aim of obtaining this unique Champagne. Coming exclusively from the first press, the must is run off by gravity, without pumping, thus allowing a minimum of sulphiting and a very "natural" vinification giving a coppery tint to the Boërl & Kroff Champagnes. The 2006 vintage of Boërl & Kroff is surprising, pale gold with green reflections, and a beautiful effervescence in the glass forming a cordon of fine bubbles well persistent. The nose is a subtle cocktail of citrus, elderberry and almond. Opulent and aromatic on the palate, with a nice grapefruit finish.
