Exceptional, old, important and fine Kachan Kork. Silky lambswool velvet on cotton foundation. Density approx. 7500 knots per dm2. Prussian blue field with scrolls and garlands of palmettes of multicolored stylized flowers surrounded by lacy foliage, adorned with a large central ruby and pale sky-blue rosette with diamond-shaped floral crown. Four spandrels with floral bulbs. Triple borders, the main one ruby with interlacing polychrome stylized flowers and foliage. Iran, mid-20th century. Shah era.
