Wall-mounted cartel and console in Martin varnish decorated with bouquets of roses and jasmines. Dial signed Ragot in Paris. François Ragot, cited Master Watchmaker in 1768. Paris, Louis XV period. Dimensions: 134 x 48 x 29 cm. Slight damage to painted decoration, cracks. Expert : Stéphane Pépe RAGOT A PARIS, François RAGOT Cité Maitre horloger in 1768. He was based in the Temple enclosure and distinguished himself as one of the best clockmakers of his time (listed in the Tardy). A similar important cartel in horn signed RAGOT A PARIS was sold on April 4, 2012 by CHRISTIE'S AMSTERDAM.
