This important piece of furniture is a copy of the sloping desk with coffers (1) made by Jacques DUBOIS (1693 -1763). The typical sloping desk of DUBOIS, one of his favorite pieces of furniture, is decorated with Far Eastern lacquer or European varnish. The bronzes include the usual scrolls, rocaille and foliage, as well as the corner falls extended on the edge of the legs by a flowery rod. The flap, sometimes the belt and the sides are frequently framed with molded or scrolled rods of foliage and flowers. Some of these models, of very small dimensions, are among the most refined works of the 18th century.
